Obituary of Lillian Shaffer

Lillian Shaffer, 90, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She was born in Bedford, Pennsylvania and was a member of Spring Hope Church of the Brethren in Schellsburg, Pennsylvania and Concordia Lutheran Church of Bedford, Pennsylvania and Akron, Ohio. She loved gardening, flowers and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Ronald; daughter, Lucinda Shaffer; and brothers, Donald, Cloyd and Raymond Milburn. She is survived by daughters, Mae (Robert) Cooper of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Carol (James) Jones of Akron, Ohio; son, H. Douglas (Kathy) of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Shaffer of Mogadore, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 3 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. in Akron. Dr. Robert Denton officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Spring Hope Church of the Brethren, RD 1, Schellsburg, Pennsylvania 15559.
