Obituary of Kay Shelley

Kay Shelley passed away October 7, 2007 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Akron but lived all her life in Cuyahoga Falls. Following her graduation in 1957, she began her 35 year career at B.F. Goodrich. Kay never knew a stranger. She will be fondly remembered for her kind deeds, helping hand, loving comfort meals and her heart warming smile. Kay spent her retirement years nannying many of our children, passing on her endless love. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Dorothy Shelley; She will be sadly missed by her brothers, James Shelley, his wife, Roddie of Houston, Texas and Bruce Shelley of Wilmington, North Carolina; her nieces, Cassidy Shelley, Helen-Jean (Philip) Cardina, Jamie (Brian) Makebakken and Rhonda (Mark) Wilson; and her four special club friends, Janice Jacobs, Carol Matheny, Mary Pratt and Eileen Dickerson. A Memorial service will be held in honor of Kay on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the VNS Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333 or to the American Cancer Society.
