Obituary of Joan Cox

Joan Cox, 66, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Care Center in Copley. She was born in Akron and was the owner/operator of the Glens Tavern in North Hill. She will be deeply missed by her companion, Gordon Tarr; loving daughters, Kelly (Mike) Epling, Verna (Ed) Genet and Kathy (Joe) Bartholet; caring step-daughters, Crystal (Wayne) Chapman, April (Mike) Fracasso and Terri Potts; step-son, John Potts; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nephew, Jerry (Andrea) Wojciechowski; uncle, Louis Archer; and extended family at the Glens and numerous friends. To those I love, and those who love me. When I am gone, release me, let me go; I have so many things to see and do. You musn't tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled alone. So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on, so if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all my love around you soft and clear. And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet with a smile and "Welcome Home." Memorial services will be held Monday, 7 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home. Rev. Ross Slaughter officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, 4 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Hospice Care Center in Copley.
