Obituary of Peter Wyhowanec

Peter Wyhowanec, 84, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Heather Knoll Care Center. He was born in Akron and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1985 after 43 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War II. Mr. Wyhowanec was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Civilian Conservation Corps. prior to entering the service. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed ballroom dancing. Thank you to the staff at Heather Knoll for their wonderful care. He was preceded in death by wife, Avinell; and is survived by daughters, Janet (George) Watts of Norton and Patricia (Steven) Nuspl of Akron; brothers, Steve (Katherine) of Akron, Mike (Ellen) and Joe (Mary) all of California; sisters, Helen (George) Bennett and Teri Christoff all of Akron; grandchildren, Hallie and Chris Nuspl and Amy, Michael and Julie (Josh) Watts; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Shianne and Lily. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church where Peter will lie in state one hour prior to services. Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home where a Parastas service will be held at 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Church Cemetery Fund.
