Obituary of Carmen Salvatore
Carmen Salvatore, 77, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 after a brief illness.
She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on March 4, 1930. She attended school in Montreal and became a licensed beautician. Carmen was married to her beloved husband Frank on June 17, 1950 and has been an Akron resident ever since. She managed several area Hallmark Stores for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Paul Ladies Guild and the Prayer Chain. Being from French-speaking Quebec and being of Italian descent she was fluent in both languages as well as in English.
Carmen is survived by her husband of 56 years Frank; children Joseph A. (Lynn) Salvatore of Chicago, Ill., Anthony F. (Ann) Salvatore of Dublin, Ohio, Mary Ann (Edward) Cosentino of Youngstown and Catherine M. (Terri) Infield of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Mindy (Mike) O'Keefe, Ken (Kinsey), David, Michael, Amy, Molly, Robert and Michelle Salvatore, Christopher and Sarah Cosentino and Jordan and Marissa Infield; great grandchildren Aiden, Kennedy and Cuin O'Keefe; brother Onofrio (Carolyn) Brigandi; sister Grace Ronaldi; and was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Catarina (nee Maimone) Brigandi and brother Joseph Brigandi.
Funeral services will be held Monday 9:30am at Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. and 10:00am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 5pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made to St. Paul Building Fund.
