Obituary of Emerick C. Hranilovich

Emerick C. Hranilovich, 85, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at Akron City Hospital. He was born in Cleveland and was an Akron area resident for most of his life. He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and the Astronomy Club of Akron. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and retired from Akron General Medical Center in 1984 after 22 years of service. He is survived by wife of 47 years of marriage, Eleanor (Tremko); daughters, Mary E. (Robert) Wengerd of Canal Fulton, Rita James and Virginia (Robert) Pickup all of Akron; sisters, Helen Boric of Crowne Point, Indiana and Mary Theresa Hranilovich of Stow; sister-in-law, Leah Hranilovich of Akron; grandchildren, Sarah (Frankie), Stefan, Jeffrey; step-grandchildren, Tamara and Robert; and youngest grandchild and namesake, Charles. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church where Emerick will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Fr. Robert Stash officiating. Interment at St. Michael Church Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home where a Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church.
