Obituary of George Kula
George M. Kula, 61, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at his home.
He was born in Cleveland and had been an area resident since 1990. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his Honorable Discharge, he enrolled at Kent State University, receiving his Bachelor Degree in Business in 1970 and his MBA in 1972.
George was a faithful member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green where he enjoyed volunteering for the Lenten fish fries and had just worked on the recent FunFest. He loved to work with wood and spent many joyful hours with his late father, John Kula, on woodworking projects. He was a golfer and an avid reader.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Jo; his mother Irene (Planovsky) Kula; brother and sister-in-law John and Geraldine Kula of Brookpark; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Jackie Nadwodny; was a proud uncle of Michael and John Kula, Gina (Michael) Mentus and Lisa (Bob) Ladd; great uncle to Michael and Anthony Mentus; godchildren to Kathy Jo Singletary and Sean Conroy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 27, 2007 at 11:00AM, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. Uniontown, Ohio 44685, where the family will receive friends from 10am until the time of the service. Military honors will be conducted at the church and private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
