Obituary of Anna Matter

Anna Matter, 84, passed away Monday, August 27, 2007 at Heather Knoll Care Center. Born August 16, 1923 in Yugoslavia to Nicholas and Teresa (nee Pless) Abel she was an Akron resident for most of her life. She was employed by Galat Packing but was known for her career as an Avon Lady and had been a member of the Avon President's Club. She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and was an avid quilter. Mrs. Matter was preceded in death by her husband Karl in 1995 and her sister Eva Dipold; and is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Anna and Andrew Scheks of Akron and Carolyn and Robert Browning of Seal Beach, Cal.; grandchildren Andrea and Susan Scheks and Robert and Jaclyn Browning; brother Frank (Val) Abel of Denver, Col. ; sister Rosina (Emil) Oczkowski of Brenerhaven, Germany; many nieces, nephews, god children and dear friends. Our deep appreciation to the nurses, nurse's aides and staff at Heather Knoll Care Center for their dedicated care of our mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:00am at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. and 10:30am at Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5 to 8pm at the funeral home.
