Obituary of Steven G. Freeman

Steven G. Freeman, 55, passed away Thursday July 12, 2007 in Columbus, OH. He was born Aug. 26, 1951 in Akron, OH. Steve was a loving husband, father and granddad. We didn't realize how many lives Steve and touched until his recent illness. Since word spread about his hospitalizaiton on June 18, cards, phone calls, e-mails, well-wishes, and support have been received from Steve's associates and co-workers in NW Ohio. Steve was a very caring, supportive and gentle man and he will be deeply missed by many. He enjoyed all sports, especially Cleveland Indians Baseball, golf and bowling. He was formerly an executive with FirstMerit for over 20 years and taught economics at Akron University (part time) for 20+ years. He was currently teaching for Rhodes State University. Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by father Edson. He is survived by wife Jerri; sons Donnie (Kelly) Poling, James (Melissa) Poling; daughter Judi (Ken) Poling; sister Lisa Carlson; brothers Edson (Judy) Freeman, Jeffery (Laurie) Freeman; mother Martha Freeman; grandchildren Taylor, Gabriel, Lily, Jacob, Dakota; and sister-in-law Judy Barnes. The family will receive friends Monday 5-9 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment Hillside Memorial Park.
