Obituary of Mickey Pete Yaceczko

Mickey Pete Yaceczko passed away June 30th to join his heavenly father. The memory of this loving man will survive in the minds and hearts of the many people he touched. Friends and family were always near and dear to him, and he was a lover of nature, travel, music, photography, and collecting. He was born October 31, 1950 to Peter and Tatianna Yaceczko, who immigrated from the Ukraine in 1948 and were lifelong residents of Akron from 1949 on. He loved his heritage and was a devoted father to his children. Mickey served his nation in the Army during the Vietnam War and was proud of his years in the service. Mickey spent his life loving his family, parents, and countless friends. If ever there was a person in need he never hesitated to extend his hand. "Mick" worked for the State of Ohio for 22 years and retired in 2003. He spent the rest of his days at home relaxing, expanding his collections, and caring for his pets which he loved dearly. Preceded by parents Peter and Tatianna Yaceczko, brother-in-law Joe Bestard, brother-in-law Steve Conners, aunt and uncle Agnes and John Yaceczko. Friends Tom Theobold, Bill Kanal, and Patty Rockwood. Survived by son Kristopher Pete Yaceczko, daughter Kaylan Elizabeth Yaceczko, brother Jerry Yaceczko and family, sister Stella Bestard and family, cousin John Yaceczko and family, mother of his children Sylvia Yaceczko, and Marge Shirey. Friends: Jeff and Babe Pulizzi, Stelmas, Fouttys, George Haas, Stimacs, Hertzogs, Laura and Rudy Christian, Tom Dandridge, Jimmy Seroggy, and Larry Jones. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will be Monday at 12:00 pm at the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church on Brown St. in Akron. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
