Obituary of Walter Malish
Walter Malish, 87, passed away Monday June 25, 2007.
Born in Akron, Ohio May 21, 1920 and was a lifetime resident of the Akron Area living in Tallmadge for 52 years. He was a 1938 graduate of Akron East High School and attended the University of Akron. He worked at Goodyear Aerospace and Goodyear Tire Rim Plant retiring after a combined service of 43 years from the Engineering Division. He was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, served various terms as a trustee. He was an active member in the St. Nicholas Russian Brotherhood Organization Lodge #204. He was an avid sportsperson, he enjoyed golf, bowling and dancing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, godfather and friend. A quiet and unassuming man he valued his family above all else.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary; son Walter John Malish (Laurene); daughter Patricia Ann Nuzum; grandchildren Monya Marie Garnett (Eric), Jonathan Malish (Jamie), Nathan, Aaron, Elizabeth, Alexis and Jordon; great grandchildren Jack, Ty, Kate', Grace. He also leaves numerous "Favorite" nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
