George "Tatia" Mihalca
George "Tatia" Mihalca, 84, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep June 16, 2007.
George was born April 26, 1923 in Arad, Romania where he lived most of his life before moving to Norton the last twenty years. He had accomplished many things. He flew planes in WWII, was an engineer and ran a school in Romania. He loved to fish, garden and build anything from scratch.
He is survived by Marta Mihalca; his beloved daughter Liana Mihalca (Craig Fraser); his son Corneliu Mihalca (Liana); grandchildren Austin Caba, Georgia (Tom) Bartilson, John Roberts, Joana Roberts, Gabby (Joao) Genzaga, Pierre Mihalca. Also his great grandson his little iepurasu Xavier Bartilson. He was preceded in death by his parents Elena and Florea and brothers Petru and Cornel.
He was a gentle man loved and missed by all. We will miss his stories, Hawaiian shirts and stuffed cabbage.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., where a Saracusta service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m. at the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Fr. Ian Pac-Urar officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church.
