Obituary of Elmer Emil Schoch

Elmer Emil Schoch, age 88 passed away May 12, 2007. He was born in Akron and was a lifetime resident of the area. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II, retired from the Seiberling Tire and Rubber Co. after 42 years of service, was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Seiberling Engineers Club, volunteered for Mobile Meals and was a member of the Kenmore Senior Center. His four children were Akron University graduates and he remained an avid Zips fan as a season ticket holder for both football and basketball. He was a great euchre player. Elmer was a curious man totally engaged in his surroundings: embracing life and everyone in it. His love and generosity toward his wife and family member were immeasurable. He is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Ann, and is survived by his children; Tanya Schoch of California, Christopher (Jackie) Schoch of Stow, Deborah (Ron Kirby) Schoch of Georgia, Eric (Patti) Schoch of Green, grandchildren Coleen Schoch of Virginia and Collin Schoch of Green, siblings; Elsie (Keith) Spriggel of North Carolina, and Richard (Alice) Schoch of Georgia. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home 95 W. Waterloo Rd.. Memorial Mass will be Thursday 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 2101 17th St. S.W. Akron, 44314. Inunrnment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Church.
