Obituary of Esther 'Nanny' Cornell
Esther (nee Juszczak) Mesenger Cornell 'Nanny' of Akron passed away June 28, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Marianna Juszczak; brothers, Felix and Ted; husbands, Oliver Mesenger and Kenneth Cornell; son, Brian (Buck) Mesenger; granddaughter, Megan Mesenger; great grandson, Ethan Ransburgh & great granddaughter, Samantha Hall.
Born June 19,1930, Nanny was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a good friend and gifted storyteller with a zany sense of humor that made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Nanny held a variety of jobs starting at age 13 as a bowing pin setter and ending with her retirement from Seminole Electric. But, she was most proud of being "Nanny". She enjoyed collecting seashells, card games, jigsaw puzzles, old movies and cheering for Lebron James.
Esther is survived by sister Genie (John) Turlik, daughter Mary (Dave) Melton, sons Dan (Kathy), Mark (Kathy), Steve (Rea), Jeff (Michelle), Eric (Jamie), daughter-in-law Beth and many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Nanny leaves a legacy of love and laughter to her beloved grandchildren many of whom claim to be her "favorite" - Jennifer Wahl, Melissa (John ) Jarvis, Ben (Aisling) Melton, Kristi (Rob) Klise, Becky (Donny) Ransburgh, Tracey Parsons, Kelly Burgess, Mark Mesenger, Shannon Hall, Matt (Cori) Mesenger, Adam Mesenger, Channing Durkee, Olivia Mesenger, Brian Mesenger, Michael & Daniel Mesenger & her great grandchildren: Jessica & Heather Wahl, Ryan, Kevin & Camden Jarvis, Eabha Melton, Robbie & Lily Klise, Belle, Bryan & Ben Ransburgh, Leo Mesenger, & Jude McCullough. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
