Obituary of Patricia J. Parkins

Patricia Parkins, 62, passed away on February 11, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Akron on May 21, 1951, Pat had lived in Stow for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms High School and the University of Akron, with a degree in education. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Christ Child Society of Akron. Patty retired from the County of Summit in 2011 after 32 years of service. Patty was preceded in death by her father Peter Rusyn. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Donald of Stow; son Peter of Macedonia; mother Helen Rusyn; sister Cheryl (Richard) Masters of Jacksonville, FL; father & mother-in-law Frank & Rita Parkins of Akron & brother-in-law Jerry (Kathy) Parkins of Tallmadge. nephew Dylan Masters and nieces Erica & Diane Parkins. The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron 44301. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11:00 am in Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Rd., Stow, OH 44224. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
