Obituary of Edmund Blazewick
Edmund Blazewick, 87, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Cleveland.
Born in Akron on February 23, 1926 to the late John and Mary Blazewick, Ed was a lifelong area resident. He served as a Marine in WWII, and married Ellen Bensko in 1947. Ed was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. He worked as a machinist for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co for 31 years. Ed was a past commander of the PLAV Post 32, a member of the F&AM Blue Wayfarer Lodge, York Rite, and the VFW Post 3383.
Edmund was preceded in death by his wife Ellen and son Stephen. He is survived by son Edmund II (Miriam); daughter-in-law Sandy Blazewick; and grandsons Stephen (Manu), Brian and Kevin Blazewick.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-3PM at the Anthony Funeral Home, KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where a Parastas will take place at 2:30PM. A funeral service will take place on Monday, 11AM, at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
