Obituary of Margo J. Lunsford

-CUYAHOGA FALLS Margo Lunsford, 67, went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2014. Born in Akron on January 9, 1947 to Albert & Jane Humphrey, Margo was a lifetime area resident, graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and attended the University of Akron. Margo was a founding member of the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society, a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Friends of the Library, past-president of the Gamma Beta Sorority, chairman of Fallspex philatelic exhibits and member of the American Topical Association, receiving awards from both. She was treasurer of the Cuyahoga Falls Stamp Club, was active in Girl Scouts, and volunteered as a candy striper at St. Thomas Hospital. She also spent many years mastering the use of a Braille machine and converted textbooks for U of A students. Margo was an avid collector and exhibitor of 1932 summer & winter Olympic Covers. Throughout her working life, Margo worked as a secretary for five City of Cuyahoga Falls Service Directors, The Dominican Order, and Our Lady of the Elms. Margo was a very dedicated wife and mother, who always put the needs of her family before her own. Margo was preceded in death by her father Albert Humphrey and uncles Ray Horning & Roland Bauer. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Arnie of Cuyahoga Falls; son Scott Lunsford; beloved mother Jane Humphrey; aunts Barbara (John) Robinson & Eleanor Horning; mother-in-law Pauline Lunsford & brother-in-law Richard Lunsford, as well as many other cousins and in-laws. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Margo's caregivers, Jenn, Charlotte, & Julia, for their outstanding care. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, 2:00 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
