Obituary of Shirley Ann Froebe

-SILVER LAKE Shirley Ann Froebe, 76, passed away suddenly on October 7, 2013. Born in Akron on November 13, 1936 to the late Shirley & Myrtle Crum, Shirley Ann had been a lifetime area resident. She was a graduate of Ellet High School, the University of Akron, and obtained her Master's Degree from Bradley University. Shirley was married to her beloved Jerry for 54 years and had resided in the Silver Lake since 1959. She was employed by the Akron Board of Education as a teacher at Innes Junior High School, retiring in 1988. Upon retirement, Shirley & Jerry spent winters in Fort Myers, FL. Shirley was well respected for her gift of teaching, and she loved being a teacher. In addition to her husband Jerry, Shirley Ann is survived by her children Patty, Pete (Anna), & Roy Froebe; 'adopted son' Ken (Lynn) Evans, and their children Josh & Hannah; granddaughter Anna Froebe; sister Christine (Jack) Trier & brother-in-law Jack Froebe. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd St., one block north of Portage Trail), Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
