Obituary of Barbara Jean Jones
Barbara Jean Jones went home to be with Jesus on September 27, 2013.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her kindness to others set an example for those who knew and loved her. Though she will be missed, her family is comforted knowing she is in heaven, and they will see her again. She resided in Akron throughout her life, and worked and retired from the Furnace Street Mission/Akron Victim Assistance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ethel (Williams) Bittner. She now waits in heaven for her loving husband of 60 years, Jake; her sister, Shirley; her two sons, James, Jr. and William; her daughters-in-law, Carol and Michele; her grandchildren, Mike, Kara and her husband Matt, and William II; great-grandchildren, Austin and Madison; and her many extended family members. Thank you to the staff at Pebble Creek and Akron General Medical Center Hospice for their support and work with Barbara.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rev. Robert Denton and Pastor Robert Webb, Jr. officiating. Interment at Bath Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Barbara's wishes were that donations be made to Haven of Rest, Akron Victim Assistance or Victory Chapel. (Anthony, Akron, 330-724-1281, www.anthonyfh.com)
