Obituary of Marjorie Irene Yanik

Marjorie Irene (Zekan) Yanik, 86, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2013, when the Angels gently lifted her spirit into the heavenly hands of God, with her children by her side. She was the last living member of the Zekan family and was preceded in death by her dear parents, Charles and Mary Zekan; her sisters, Anne, Martha, Helen, Elizabeth and Evelyn; and her brothers, Johnny and Bill. She will be joyfully joining her loving husband, Edward, who preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by her devoted children, Sandy (Rick) Downs and Louis (Cindi) Yanik; her special "Dollica" granddaughter, Tammy Stevenson (Timothy) McChain and granddaughter, Amber Rose Yanik; and her great-grandson, who was the sunshine of her life, Matthew Tyler Calder. She leaves many, many kind and loving cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends, as well as a special great-niece and loving nurse, Kimmy McCarthy. The family sends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the nurses and doctors at the Summa Health System Acute Palliative Care Unit. "Father, we entrust our beloved mother and grandmother to your mercy. You loved her greatly in life; now that she is freed from all its cares, give her happiness and peace forever. Welcome her now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever." A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
