Obituary of Henry Austin Easley
Henry A. Easley, 84, died on June 10, 2017 from complications due to final stages of COPD. He was born in Copley, Ohio on October 21, 1932 to the late Henry and Mary Easley. He graduated from Copley High School and at 19, met and fell in love with a 21-year-old girl named, Joene, his wife for 40 years prior to her death in 1992. He worked for Bridgestone/Firestone for 25 years and later for the City of Akron as a Customer Relations Representative. He also did energy audits for the then East Ohio Gas Company. He taught his children and grandchildren about giving back and the importance of volunteering. He was an Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank and Barberton Hospital volunteer for several years. Henry loved his grandchildren so much and was happiest when his whole family was around him. He loved his Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavs. He loved to travel and find new eating places and was an armchair movie critic. He had a great sense of humor and was kind to anyone who met him. He is survived by daughters, Mary (Paul) Stansberry of Concord Township, Vicky (Charles) Poulsen of Canal Fulton and son, Ron (Marie) Easley of Akron; sister, Henrya Hollin of Wadsworth; sister-in-law Mary L. Ford of Akron; brother-in-law Rudy Monte of Akron; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 1580 Brown St., Akron, Ohio 44301 followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
