Obituary of William F. Clevenger
William F. (Bill) Clevenger, Sr., 76 passed away Monday, May 15, 2017.
He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 38 years of service. He was a former member of St. Paul and St. Martha Catholic Churches. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed his frequent visits to his place in Myrtle Beach. He loved all Cleveland Sports, Ohio State Sports, St. Vincent St. Mary Sports and especially watching his two sons play sports at St. Vincent St. Mary High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving after the Korean Conflict. He always had a shiny red sports car and loved watching his nieces and nephews in their sports and activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Louise (Cordray) Clevenger, Sr.; brother, Martin L. Clevenger, Jr.; sister, Joe Ann Tittle; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Madeo Rossi; and nephew, David Clevenger. He is survived by his sons, Matthew and William Clevenger, Jr.; sister, Patricia (Dan) Little; brother, Tom (Chris) Clevenger; sister-in-law, Jean Clevenger; brother-in-law, John Tittle; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Fr. Norm Douglas officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent St. Mary High School Athletic Department, 15 N. Maple St. Akron, Ohio 44303.
