Obituary of Robert Michael Nelson

Robert M. Nelson, 59, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He had fought a brave battle against esophageal cancer. Robert was born August 3, 1950 in Akron to Robert and Eva (Sczerba) Nelson and had been an Akron resident his entire life. Robert's life revolved around his children and all his time and effort went into their well being. He leaves his children, Robert Nelson, Jr., Christine (Robert) Yutzy, Brian Nelson, Courtney (Jesse) Thomas, Ashley Nelson and Lcpl. Aaron Nelson, USMC. Equally loved and cherished are his grandchildren, Brandon Nelson, Jordan, Emiley and Evan Yutzy, Parker Nelson, Alyssa Nelson and Meghan Thomas. He also leaves his siblings who were supportive and caring, George Pultea, Eve (Rick) Nelson-Tavenvier, John (Daun) Nelson, Stefanie (Andy) Haynes and April (David) Fox. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Nelson in 1996. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
