Obituary of Joseph Flickinger Peck
Joseph F. Peck, 84, loving father and grandfather, passed away on January 12, at Akron City Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born in Meyersdale, Pa. on June 29, 1925 to the late Robert and Margaret Peck Sr., Joe had been an area resident for nearly 60 years. Joe worked as a mold finisher for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Stow Mold Plant, retiring in 1988 with over 32 years of service. He was a member of the Community Church of Portage Lakes and was also a member of the Band Organ Music Club.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca of 27 years in 1980. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Fred Miller of Green, Zola and Fred Vapenik of Chester Springs, Pa., and Noelle and Ron Kilgore of Windham, Ohio; brother, Robert E. Peck, Jr. of Kent; grandsons, Fred Miller IV of Green and Chris Miller of Akron.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 1815 W.
