Obituary of Paras 'Jack' Georgiadis
Paras 'Jack' Georgiadis of Norton, 80, passed away January 31, 2010.
Jack was a man of many interests. He was a sports fan as well as car enthusiast. He had the curiosity and inquisitive nature of a child, yet the wisdom and compassion of a man who had lived longer than his 80 years. His genuine nature, humor, ready smile, and kind eyes endeared him to many family, friends, and neighbors.
A graduate of South High School in Akron, he served in the military during the Korean War. Many will remember that Jack, along with his brother Jim, owned & operated Jimbo's Dine American restaurants for over forty years. During that time he was very active in the Norton community and served as a positive influence to many young people. His involvement included support of bowling and soccer teams, sponsoring soap box derby entrants, and helping to organize the Norton Community Fair. These efforts along with others led to his being recognized by Proclamation and awarded The Key to the City of Norton in 2002. He was also a member of The Order of AHEPA.
He shared his life with his brother and sister-in-law James and Sophie Georgiadis and was a second father to nephews George (Leslie) and Anastasi 'Stas' (Tiffany). Our dear Uncle Jack was also Godfather to Leslie and served as another grandfather to his great nephews Dimitri, John & James and his great niece Elliot . . . all of whom respected, loved, and adored him and will never forget his generosity, support, and encouragement. We will deeply miss his conversation and unconditional love. He will forever be a powerful presence in our lives.
