Obituary of Raymond H. Drown

Raymond H. Drown -CUYAHOGA FALLS Raymond H. Drown, 83, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, at Akron City Hospital. Born in Rittman, OH on May 10, 1926 to the late George and Velma Drown, Ray had been a lifetime area resident. He was a graduate of Akron Hower High School. Ray served his country in the US Navy aboard a minesweeper during WWII. He retired in 1989 from Akron Standard, where he worked for over 38 years. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sisters Grace and Rosie. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Virginia of Cuyahoga Falls; sons William (Linda) Drown of Akron, Richard (Mary) Drown of Hudson, and James Drown of Cuyahoga Falls; brother Rollin Drown of Cuyahoga Falls and sister Marcine Krumeich of Akron; grandchildren Kristin (Todd) Castilow, Brandie Drown, and Laura and Amy Drown; great-grandaughter Carissa, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel (at 3rd. st., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls), where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
