Obituary of Alma R. Tetzel-Waybright

Alma Rhea Waybright, 81, died peacefully on December 9^th following a prolonged illness. Thank you to the Heather Knoll staff and her hospice nurses for making Alma's last days as comfortable as possible. Alma was born in Elkatawa, Kentucky, the 5^th of 10 children. She raised her family in Bradford, Pennsylvania, where she turned many drab houses into cozy, wallpapered homes. Alma worked as a waitress for many years, and realized her dream of owning her own restaurant. In the 70's she opened Cherilla's Luncheonette & Soda Fountain. Alma's home cooking and conversation - her chicken and dumplings were a house favorite. She moved to the Akron area in 1982, where she enjoyed crafting, playing the slots, traveling and visiting friends and family. Everyone who met Alma was touched by her gentle and caring spirit. Alma is survived by her husband: Guy Waybright; children: Larry Barr, Gary Barr (Barbara), Linda Peloquin (David), Deanna Pelton (Bruce), Danny Barr (Jamie) and Kenyon L. Barr (Tom Swinscoe); step children: Stephen Waybright (Christine), Karen Laughlin (Gary) and Teresa Olari (Paul); siblings: Elizabeth Bryson, Dee Fraley (Beulah), Charles Fraley (Jane), June Grove, Anne Morris (Thomas) and Troy Fraley (Betty). She is also survived by numerous grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other caring friends and family. Alma was preceded in death by husbands: Kenyon H. Barr, Terry Verlaney and Robert Tetzel and siblings: Ray Fraley, Jack Fraley and James Fraley. Funeral service will be held Monday, 11am at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid and Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls (at 3^RD Street, one block north of Portage Trail) Rev. Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-8pm at the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 7:30pm.
