Obituary of Jean A. Mazzanti
Jean A. Mazzanti, 92, loving mother, grandmother, and child of God, went home to be with the Lord on December 3, in Barberton, Ohio.
Born in Salem, OH on May 9, 1917 to the late Julius and Angelina Volio, Jean had been a Salem resident until 1999, when she moved to Akron. She was a graduate of Salem High School. Jean was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Louis, sister Esther Gotti, brother Elio Volio, and nephew Steven Volio. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Chris and Stan Jankowski of Akron; grandchildren Gina Bowles of Lisbon, OH and Harry Harker Jr. of Columbiana, OH; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces Elizabeth Volio and Angela Sciara, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem on Monday at 10:00 am, where the family will receive friends for one half hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
