Obituary of Anna Gazafy

Anna ( Varga ) Gazafy, resident of Castro Valley, CA, entered peacefully into rest with her family at her side in her home on Nov. 3, 2009. She was 90 years old. She attended Kent State University. Anna served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1945. She worked as a stenographer ll, legal secretary for Alameda County in California. In retirement she enjoyed riding her bicycle, knitting, crocheting, watching basketball and gardening. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Frank Gazafy, son Steve Gazafy, brother Edward Vargo, and parents Steve and Matilda Varga. She is survived by son, Frank Gazafy Jr of Tallmadge, Ohio; daughter, Deborah Gazafy-Couch ( John Couch ) of Castro Valley; five grandchildren, Derek, Jordan and Alison of Tallmadge; Johnny and Kristin of Castro Valley. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am.
