Obituary of George Eugene Boyer
Gene Boyer, 67, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 surrounded by his family.
Gene was born August 8, 1942 to Traian (Ted) and Helen (Boyer) Grossmayer in Akron and had been an Akron resident his entire life. He managed Ted Boyer's Restaurant and was instrumental in the founding and marketing of Tae Bo®.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, David M. Grossmayer; step-brother, James; and uncle, Val Moga. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Boyer of Las Vegas, Nev.; siblings, Robert Boyer and Linda Boyer both of Akron; step-siblings, Marianne (Joseph) Revesz of Copley, Elizabeth (Alan Cedarquist) Grossmayer of Fresno, Calif., Barbara Grossmayer of Buffalo, N.Y., Jeanne Grossmayer of Camp Verde, Calif., and David (Kirsten) of Copley; step-mother, Virginia Boyer of Akron; aunt, Kathy Moga; niece and nephew, Kris (John) Johnson and Traian (Shajuana) Boyer; great-nieces and nephews, Traiana, Bethany and Joey Boyer and Ian and Hannah Johnson; and cousin, Greg (Valerie) Moga.
A Service of Remembrance was held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel in Akron. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. (Anthony Funeral Home, 330-724-1281, www.anthonyfh.com)
