Obituary of Joe Ann Tittle
Green- Joe Ann Tittle, our beloved wife, mother, sister, Nana and friend passed away peacefully on October 11, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joe Ann was born on October 6, 1933 in Fairmont, West Virginia, one of six children born to Les and Louise Clevenger and came to Akron in 1945. After graduating from Garfield High School, Joe Ann and her husband John Tittle have together enjoyed over 55 wonderful years. Joe Ann was a long standing member of Queen of Heaven Church. After retiring from ComDoc, Joe Ann and John enjoyed traveling, spending time with their many friends and most of all spending time with their family and grandchildren.
Joe Ann had a heart of gold, was a caring friend to all who knew her and never met a stranger.
Preceded in death by her parents, nephew David Clevenger and brother Martin 'Bud' Clevenger; Joe Ann will be deeply missed by her devoted husband John, her daughters Renee Tittle-Liles (Jim) and Karrie Cleaver (Bob); her much loved grandchildren, Abbie Cleaver and Jimmy Liles IV; her sisters Mary Rossi (Madeo, deceased) and Pat Little (Dan); her brothers, Bill Clevenger and Tom Clevenger (Chris); her special sisters-in-law, Jean Clevenger, Georgianna Tittle, Lori Tittle and Betty Bridenthal; as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude for the care given to Joe Ann by Dr. Jennifer Payne of Summit Oncology Associates, VNS, the 7th floor Summa nursing staff and the Palliative Care Unit nurses of Akron City Hospital.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the Anthony & Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Rd. (corner of Steese and Massillon Rds. in Green). Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
