Arthur Charles Paul Reeves, 88, passed away October 4, in Sandusky, OH.
Born in the home on the dining room table to the late Alfred and Mary Reeves, Art was a lifetime area resident. He was a graduate of St. Mary High School and attended the University of Akron before joining the U.S. Army in 1943. Art served his country during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army's 2nd Armored Division, 66th Armored Regiment "Hell on Wheels". He received a Purple Heart. Art was the longtime owner of Reeves Lumber. Art was an avid golfer and bowler and was also a member of the DAV, VFW, Copley Kiwanis, and was a life member of the 2nd Armored Division. Art was also a supporter of the Soap Box Derby. Arthur was a kind and generous man who had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
Art is survived by his loving wife Lora of Akron; son John Reeves and daughter Marsha (Bob) Simmons; daughter-in-law Jill Reeves; step-children Larry Harmon Sr. and Candace (Craig) Fore; grandchildren Andy Reeves, Larry Harmon Jr., Carrie Harmon, Gary Harmon, Katherine (Chris) Trujillo, and Patricia Fore; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Edith (Ray) Larko, Norma (Robert) Cabiness, Celia McKinney, and Lois (Ernie) Monsour.
The family will receive friends TODAY from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., where a funeral service will take place Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's memory may be made to the National Federation of the Blind 1800 Johnson St. Baltimore, MD 21230, the Humane Society 4904 Quick Rd
