Obituary of Virginia C. Patterson

Virginia C. "Ginny" Patterson died October 3, 2009 after a long illness. Virginia was born in Akron, Ohio on November 15, 1928. She worked in the cafeteria at Cuyahoga Falls High School and later at Summit Services in Akron. She enjoyed spending time camping at Countryside Campground in Brimfield. She also loved her cat, Baby and her granddog, Hank. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles; parents, Raymond and Mary Ione Flesher; brother, Billy Flesher; sister, Dorothy Francis; granddaughter, Princess Patterson; and in-laws Merle A. and Clara Patterson, Marjorie Marrone, Merle J. Patterson, and Carol Roberts. Virginia is survived by children, David (Lois) of Hudson; Deborah of Cuyahoga Falls, and Donald (Darlene) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Shawn (Yvonne) Patterson of Alabama and Lauren (Brett) Talion of Hudson; great-grandchildren Braden, Keagan, and Owen. Virginia is also survived by siblings Jean Wagner of Barberton, Carrie Manes of Akron, James (Joyce) Flesher of Uniontown, Robert (Mary) Flesher of Norton, Mary Jo Kirkland of North Carolina. She is also survived by sisters- and brothers-in-law, Gloria Babich of Akron, Stanley (Dorothy) Stover of Warren, Donald (Michelle) Patterson of Florida, Judy (George) Manus of Doylestown, Darlene (Neil) Bedford of Cuyahoga Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Calling hours will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, and services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7 at the Anthony Funeral Home, McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
