Obituary of Frances Migdal

Frances Migdal, 94, passed away Tuesday September 22, at Akron City Hospital. Born in Boswell, PA on October 8, 1914 to the late Very Rev. Theodore and Matushka Mary Migdal, Frances had been an area resident since 1933. She was employed for over 36 years as a lab technician for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., retiring in 1977. She was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, where she was also a member of the church's Altar Aid Society, Women's Club, and 'O' Club. Frances was also a member of the Firestone Coin Club. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her brothers Serge, Paul, Nick, and Ted Migdal, sister Nina Sisler, and great-niece Lauren. She is survived by her nieces Andrea (Don) Migdal-Lambo and Cynthia (Robert) Robertson and her nephews David Migdal, Ted (Sue) Migdal, Jeffrey (Kathy) Migdal, Serge (Joann) Migdal, Mason (Donna) Sisler, and Rick (Sherri) Migdal.; great-nieces Krista, Kyra, Katya, Alexandra, Victoria, Natalie, Nicole, Meghan, Melissa, and Michal and one great-nephew Ted. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., where a Parastas will be held at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore, where Frances will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at St Nicholas Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Frances' memory may be made to the St. Nicholas Cemetery Fund.
