Obituary of Julianna Grna

Julianna and Alan Grna died July 17, 2009 at the hands of an intruder in their home. Julianna was born February 17, 1924 to Michael and Maria (Srncik) Skalicky in Trnava, Slovakia. She married Andrew Grna in 1945 and they came to the United States in 1957. Their only son Alan was born September 8, 1965. Andrew died Decmeber 13, 1996. Alan completed graduate school at the University of Akron where he was currently employed in polymer research. Julianna and Alan were inseparable, living in the same home all his life. Alan died while defending his mother and they both now rest in Jesus. A memorial service will be held Sunday August 23, 2009 at 1 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 550 E. Wilbeth Rd., Akron, Ohio 44301 with Rev. Howard Grether II officiating. Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
