Obituary of Winlea Alice Humphrey

Winlea Alice Humphrey, 88, passed away Sunday August 9, 2009 at Akron City Hospital. Winlea was born March 18, 1921to Charles Ellis and Tressa (Rowe) Parker in Pennsylvania and had been an Akron resident since 1943. She enjoyed 23 years with General Tire. She then found her true calling as a house mother for Summit County Children's Services where she was employed over 13 years. Winlea was preceded in death by her beloved husband William in 1997 and her son Ralph in 1996. She is survived by her grandchildren Coleen Humphrey and Craig Humphrey and her great grandchildren Gabrielle and Brigitte Humphrey; her daughter-in-law Sharon (Paul) Robinson; special niece Beverly (Rev. LArry) Collins. Winlea was a sweet and loving individual who cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They loved her in return. During her final days either Craig, Coleen, Sharon and Beverly was at her side to comfort her. Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:00 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. (Please not new address). Rev. Larry Collins officiating.
