Obituary of Albert J. Sekermestrovich

Albert J. Sekermestrovich, 88, beloved brother and uncle, went home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2009. Born in Akron to the late Michael and Mary Sekermestrovich on May 23, 1921, Al had been a lifetime area resident. Albert served his country during WWII as a member of the US Army and was also a member of the American Legion Post 449 and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Firestone Park Post 3383. Albert was preceded in death by his wife Anne in 1999; brothers Joseph. Edward, and Rudy and sisters Olga, Katherine, Helen, and Anne. He is survived by his sister Alice Pitcher of Akron and brothers John of Akron and William of Massillon; sisters-in-law Helen Hooper and Ida May Sekermestrovich, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel 1990 S. Main St. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Lonteen officiating. The interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery where the American Legion Kenmore Post #449 will conduct military honors. Donations in Al's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
