Obituary of J. Kathryn (Croley) Bennington
STOW - Kate Bennington, 91, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Care Center in Copley. She was born in Akron and lived at Stow-Glen Retirement Village since August of 1999. She was a graduate of Akron East High School and Actual Business College. She was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Baptist Church for 35 years and was a charter member of Cornerstone Community Church in Stow where she was also a member of the Agape Circle. She retired in 1978 from First Federal Savings and Loan Association. She was preceded in death by husband, Walter H. (Walt) in 1985; son, David in 1995; parents, Ulie C. and Mary F. Croley; and brothers, Edson C. and Thomas E. Croley. She is survived by granddaughter, Chaney (Lee) Diamond; great-grandson, Jackson; great-granddaughter, Zoe all of Chicago, Illinois; grandson, Jason Bennington of Solon, Ohio; sister and caretaker, LaVerne D. (Joseph, Jr.) Harris; brother, Charles C. (Ann) Croley; helpful nephew, Ronald C. Harkless and niece, Deborah Kathryn Ashley; special friends, Martha Timberlake, Barb Smith, Pastor Dan Paige and Pastor Kim; as well as aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. A special thank you to her many good friends and staff members at Stow-Glen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 5344 Fish Creek Rd. in Stow where friends may call one hour prior to service. Pastor Dan Paige officiating.
