Obituary of Richard M Hinton

Richard M. Hinton Richard M. Hinton, 89, died on May 10, 2009, after a long struggle with Alzheimers Disease. He was born in Cleveland, and lived in the Akron-Cuyahoga Falls area since 1953. During World War II, he served his country as an Army M.P. in Manila, the Philippines, and retired from the Goodyear International Advertising Department. Dick was a member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls for over 50 years, and was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge, with membership in Star Lodge, the Scottish Rite (Valley of Akron), and Tadmor Shrine. He was a longtime supporter of the Red Cross, both as a volunteer at the Goodyear Blood Mobiles, and as a driver after he retired. He was a member of the Blood Donor Hall of Fame, having donated 33 gallons of blood. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty of Cuyahoga Falls; his brother-in-law, John R. Angel; his nephew, Nicholas G. Angel (Vikki); niece, Laura Williams (Randall), and five great-nieces and nephews, all of California. There will be a memorial service, conducted by Rev. Gail Lindsey, at the First Christian Church, 2253 Third Street, Cuyahoga Falls at 1 p.m. on Monday, the 18th of May, with calling hours one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends, desire, memorial gifts may be sent to his church.
