Obituary of Mary L. Dudick

Mary L. (Dickey) Dudick, 89, entered into Eternal Rest, Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Lake Vista Skilled Nursing Facility in Cortland, OH where she was currently residing. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles (Sava) and Florence Dickey, her husband John Dudick; brothers Peter and John Dickey; sisters Helen Dickey, Mildred Kozup and Ann Chopko. Mary is survived by sisters, Katharine Apger of Newton Falls, Margaret Petty of Warren, Pauline Dickey of Columbus; brother William Dickey of Aurora; brother-in-law Edward Chopko; nephews Edward (Diane) Chopko, Jr., Peter (Kathleen) Kozup, Charles (Daverly) Kozup, John Kozup, Joseph (Rosemary) Kozup, Ralph (Joanna) Hurley, Roger Hurley; nieces Mary Ann (Roger) Zenorich, Alice (Kenneth) Pawlak; and many great nieces and nephews. She retired from Trumbull Lamp Works, division of GE in Warren. Mary grew up in Newton Falls, OH and graduated from Newton Falls High School. She moved to Akron in 1978. Mary was actively involved in church activities at both St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Warren and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore before illness prevented it. She held memberships in both the Warren and Akron R Clubs. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening. The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron where Parastas service will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Academy and St. John Orthodox Church, 2220 Reeves Rd.
