Obituary of Antoinette Marie Moore
Antoinette Marie Moore, 62, went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2009. Marie was born April 30, 1946, to parents, the late John Gerald and Gertrude Marie (Guthrie) Biggins Of Cuyahoga Falls. She suffered several years of illness but due to her determination fought through for eight years. She is survived by her dedicated husband of 20 years Calvin Edward Moore and her faithful daughter Tammy (Moore) Jenkins and loyal son in law Vernon Jenkins and her favorite special granddaughter Jessica Ann who served as her major supporter over her years of illness. Marie was a finalist in the National Spelling Bee Contest and graduated from Woodridge High School with many scholastic honors including the National Honor Society. Marie was proud to have graduated from Kent State University with a Baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education and Library Science. She was only nine hours short from her Masters Degree. Marie was proud to have paid her way through college with a full time and part time jobs while being a full-time student. Marie spent 25 years with the East Holmes Schools as a reading teacher for the Amish children with reading disabilities, but was forced to retire early due to illness. Although she had many memorable experiences and successes, the one achievement special to her was tutoring an 8^th grade Amish girl all the way to the National Spelling Bee Finals in Washington D.C. Emma May Miller and Marie have remained close friends. Marie also tutored English to immigrants from Czechoslovakia, and she continued to correct all of our grammar and spelling her entire life. Marie was a loving but a determined, independent soul that loved the beauty of her flowers, genealogy research, cooking, teaching, reading, and antique cars. Also surviving is daughter Angela (Moore) Williams of Akron, Ohio, and three other grandchildren, and sister Sharon McLean (Biggins) of Massillon; and two other sisters and one brother. Marie had great admiration for the kindness of the Kidney Foundation and her wish is that a memorial contribution be made in lieu of flowers. Also, the Diabetes Association and the Heart Fund were helpful. Please contact Tammy Jenkins at 330-671-8194 for arrangements.
