Obituary of Nancy Marie Cook

Nancy M. Cook, age 53, found peace in the arms of the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2009. She was born in Akron and lived here all of her life. Nancy started at the University of Akron at age 48, graduating at age 52 in 2007 with a BA in Secondary English Education. She worked for the Akron Public School System as a substitute teacher. Nancy loved her pets (her second set of kids), to read, work in the garden and walks in the park for the serenity they provided. She loved to shoot pool and photography. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Jennifer) and Eric (Michelle) Trares; her loving sister and best friend, Patty Mlynar; brothers, Kenny (Margo) and Glenn Cook; and her "ex", the father of their children, Keith Trares. She is also survived by her favorite niece, Brandy Cook; nephews, Michael Cook and Jason Mlynar; aunts; an uncle; and cousins. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. (PLEASE NOTE NEW ADDRESS). Rev. Deacon Frank Lonteen officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Nancy asked that instead of mourning her death that family and friends gather to celebrate her life. She also requested that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made to the family.
