Harold G. Hanna
Harold Gene Hanna, 74, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, at his home in Akron.
Born in Gallatin, TN on June 15, 1934, Harold had been a lifetime area resident. He was a graduate of the University of Akron and was employed as an English teacher at Central-Hower high school, retiring in 1988 after 30 years.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Evelyn Hanna and his wife Joann in 1963. He is survived by his son Mark Hanna of Akron and his daughters Teresa Schleier of Akron and Debbie (Gary) Pace of Wilmington, NC; granddaughters Joann (Joel) Edgar, Jennifer Schleier, and Michelle (Tom) Considine, all of Akron. Harold also leaves behind many friends whom he worked out with at the Portage Lakes Fitness Center in Coventry Twp.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm. Cremation is to follow. Inurnment of ashes will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
