Obituary of Helga Garafolo

HELGA (LANGE, FAVERTY) GARAFOLO Helga Faverty, 77, was born March 16, 1931 to Ewald and Gertrude (Zeyssig) Hingst in Berlin Germany, came to the USA at the age of 17 and resided in Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, and recently in Green. She earned a Master's Degree from Kent State and was a teacher at CVCA for 20 years. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed "her little guys" to her last day. Helga loved to travel! Her final journey ended with grace on January 11, when she was taken peacefully into Jesus' waiting arms. Helga survived two husbands: Charles Lange and Verne Faverty, and was married to Carl Garafolo. Her legacy of love lives on in her children: David (Linda) Lange, Vonnie (Al) LaRue, Dan (Donna) Lange, Heidi Coup Peterson, Wendy (Mike) Leslie, Tammy Griffiths, Yvette (Joel) Bishop, and Donna (Steve) Walters. The loves of her life include 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mima had a full and wonderful life and an unshakable faith in Jesus to the end! The family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Steese and Massillon Roads in Green). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 11 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
