Obituary of George Edward Shaffer

George E. Shaffer, 52, died peacefully January 11, 2009 in Hartville, Ohio surrounded by his family. George enjoyed sports and playing cards and he could easily make people laugh. His love for his children gave him strength and happiness. The support and prayers from George's family gave him comfort throughout his life. Preceded in death by his father, George; he is survived by his mother, Rita; children, Adam, Tyler (Megan) and Kelsey; and their mother, Dianne; brothers, Ron (Meg) Shaffer, Frank (Becky) Shaffer, Dennis (Charlene) Shaffer, and Brian (Denise) Shaffer; sisters, Patti (Jim) Gross, Karen (Nick) Kostoff, Rita (Jeff) Shaffer and MaryAnne (Mike) Cole; and many nieces and nephews who loved George very much. Calling hours will be held Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony & Biscan Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (corner of Massillon and Steese Rd.) A Mass celebrating George's life will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green. Interment will be private.
