I knew Jane when I worked as a pastoral associate at Queen of Heaven parish in Green. She was such a strong lady--even with her disability--she impressed me with her faith, her courage and her sense of humor. I will remember her and offer my sympathy and prayers to her family. She is undoubtedly enjoying God's faithful presence now 'face to face'.

I want you to know how much your mother meant to me. I was her former student, graduating from Manchester High School in 1985. I had your mom for 2nd grade and she never forgot who I was--always a kind word and a warm hug whenever she happened to see me, although it has been sometime, but she never forgot who I was and that meant a lot to me. A fond memory I have of Mrs. Symkowicz was she gave each student in my 2nd grade class that year a Christmas ornament; a small, wooden birdhouse and I have placed it on my tree every year since she gave it to me a long, long time ago. She was a teacher that touched my soul and as a parent now, I can only hope that my kids are lucky enough to have such a wonderful teacher in their lifetime. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
