Obituary of Yolanda Stillo
Yolanda passed away October 13, 2008. She was born March 24, 1928 here in Akron to Raphael and Joe Codian. She lived in the home her dad built with his own two hands. Yolanda graduated from Garfield High School in 1946. She was employed at Sun Rubber and later at Firestone. She was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Prime Timers Senior Club for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Dominic. They spent many winters in Florida. Her one joy was gambling and she loved going to Las Vegas which she probably visited about thirty times. She loved her church family as well as her own. She enjoyed the "breakfast club" after mass. She enjoyed playing Bingo and she liked to bowl. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 55 years, Dominic Stillo; her loving children Donna (Mike) Aller, Mary (Jerry) Hart, Rose Stillo (Tracy Grainger) and Phil (Mary) Stillo; grandchildren Ryan and Logan Rife, Michael and Meghan Aller, and Nicole, Tony, and Dante Stillo; brothers Lou and Mike Codian and sister Mary Codian. She was preceded in death by her mother Raphael and father Joe; sisters Vera DiSpina, Rose and Lucy Codian, Antoinette LaMonica, and Grace Orlando. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you, and whispered "Come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:30am at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pebble Creek Nursing Center or VSN Hospice. (Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 330-724-1281, www.kakfh.com)
